Segal's Solar Systems, Inc. is not a representative of any particular company. Segal's Solar Systems, Inc. provides unlimited energy. If you want power for five minutes, feel free to take your business elsewhere. However, If you want power for a long time, come to us. We will take the time and effort to find out your need and choose the best or most cost-effective products to fill that need with renewable energy systems for heating, hot water, electricity, and ultra-efficient refrigeration, in harmony with the environment.

We do not try to design the cheapest systems. In fact, with the exception of "novelty items" we do not carry cheap products. If you want a product which is built cheaply, has a ninety day warranty, and fails a month after the warranty expires, you probably won't find it at Segal's Solar Systems, Inc. However, we do have access to a wide range of good products, from many manufacturers. These products have REAL warranties (three, five, ten, twelve, and sometimes even twenty years) and we will design systems to fit any reasonable budget.

The owner and chief engineer of Segal's Solar Systems, Inc., Barry Jay Segal, received his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1974. As part of his continuing education, he has also attended over one hundred courses, seminars, and conferences on electrical engineering, solar engineering, energy-efficient construction, psychology and human awareness, and business, encompassing over 2600 hours of classroom instruction during the past twenty-four years. These classes have been taught by a wide variety of firms including semiconductor, solar energy, and communication companies, the United States Departments of Energy, Defense, and Small Business Administration, the Florida Solar Energy Center, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratory, the Solar Energy Industries Association, Northeast Sustainable Energy Association, American Solar Energy Society, and the American Society of Mechanical Enginners.

Seasonal Storage

Segal's Solar Systems, Inc. installed two pavilion lighting systems at recycling centers in Calvert County, Maryland. These were designed to use partial seasonal storage. Solar energy is collected, converted to electricity, and then stored as chemical energy in batteries during the fall. Although this energy is used to run the pavilion lights at night and during the early morning, there is a surplus. This extra energy is used to augment the energy obtained from the solar panels during the winter. The Plum Point Recycling Center is on Plum Point Road approximately three miles east of Route 2,4. The Lusby Recycling Center is located about twenty miles farther south, on a road which parallels Route 2, approximately 0.1 miles east of Route 2.
